Graduate Program
Note
Admission to the program is currently suspended while the curriculum is being redesigned and enriched. The following information is for students who are currently matriculated.
Master of Arts in Informatics Courses
While completing a seven-course core, students pursue separate tracks of study, including information science, information architecture, management of information centers, system design and implementation, and organizational development. These specialties each comprise a recommended selection of courses available in the School of Informatics, with supplementary courses available elsewhere in the University.
During the first semester, three courses will be required, providing a shared background of basic information. These will introduce the rapidly changing field of information systems and services, telecommunications infrastructure and organizational challenges. One elective will be allowed, giving students an opportunity to begin specializing. During the second semester, a core course will emphasize information system design and implementation. The third semester includes a concluding seminar ending with project presentations.
